The light at the end of the tunnel? I've been using Pattern Play by Akiko & Forrest Kinney for only two weeks now, and I have to say I love it! It's a unique and fresh approach that opens the world of improvisation as totally accessible to every skill level. The jury's out on how well this will work in the long-run, but so far its really great. I'm encouraging my piano students to use as a basis for composing their own original compositions and hope to post videos in the future. Now I'm rather curious about their  Chord Play series.

     So, yesterday I listened to audio samples from Heather Sorenson's new release, Images. I love the slide show that accompanies the music. The music has some parts for added instruments. This usually deters me...as I do solo piano without any accompaniment and projects with added instruments usually sound lacking to me when done with piano alone. That said, I'm thinking the piano parts alone sound great and thank you Shawnee Press for posting audio clips.  I love that btw, (websites that have audio clips of piano arrangements  Yay!)  Anyone else have any reviews on this new release or other piano arrangers?
